The Department of Languages and Cultures offers many opportunities to study in a foreign country. Studying Abroad is strongly recommended for all language majors and minors, as being immersed in the language and culture you are studying is the only way to better understand it, and to become more fluent and proficient in the language.
Students can select short-term programs in the Summer and Winter Sessions, or longer programs for a semester or year-long program. Students can choose to study through the programs offered in the Department of Languages and Cultures (taught or advised by our own Faculty), or to select an appropriate program through the Global Engagement Office on campus.
We encourage you to plan ahead of time and to discuss your ideas and plans with your academic advisor.
