2 Electives (6 credits)

Students not completing Teacher Certification may choose any two graduate courses from the following options:

  • Additional graduate courses in your concentration language
  • Graduate course in another language (such as French or German)
  • Graduate courses in fields such as Education, ESL Certificate, Language Pedagogy, Latin American Philosophies of Education (LAPE Certificate), Linguistics, PA K-12 Certification courses, or others that relate to your professional goals (consult with your Graduate Coordinator for additional options)
  • LAN 525 Internship in the target language
  • Pre-approved Study Abroad graduate courses

Students completing the Teacher Certification:

● Teacher Certification courses automatically fulfill the 2 Electives toward the M.A.

Exit Requirement

In addition to all coursework, graduate students must inform the Graduate Coordinator of their Exit Requirement choice the semester prior to graduation. Choose of on the following:

  • Research Portfolio
  • Original Research Project
  • Comprehensive Exam
