West Chester University's Information Services (IS) division's primary role is to provide the campus with technology services that support faculty, staff, and students. The division is comprised of Information Technology Services, Client Training and Support Services, Web and Content Management Services, Technical Services, Networking & Telecommunications, Administrative Computing Systems and Applications, and the RECAP technology conference services.
The Mission of the Information Services Division is to provide a services-based infrastructure for information sharing and communication that is focused on teaching, scholarship, and service within a learning community. The Information Services Division offers practical academic and administrative technology solutions to shape the future of technology implementation in a manner that supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the University. The division is also responsible for ensuring that all technology implementations are aligned with the institutional mission, in all aspects of information technology planning.
Goals and aspirations for the Information Services division are based on the following principles: better technology support for academic, administrative, and student constituents; deploying new services with minimal disruption to the campus community, and improvement of existing services by enhancing collaboration and communication. This is to ensure faculty, staff, and students are more involved in IT processes with strong objectives in achieving quality service and timely support and forming better relationships, as well as mentoring students. West Chester University’s IS staff works as a team to enhance IT services whenever possible. The goals and objectives outlined would not be achievable without them.
