Returning Students: WCU Housing FAQs for 2024-25 Academic Year 

Who is considered a returning student?

Any student who was previously enrolled in courses at West Chester University during another term.

Are graduate students considered returning students?

  • Graduate students are not considering returning students.  Graduate students can apply with USH to live in The Village Apartments.  
  •  Unfortunately, WCU Managed Housing cannot accommodate Graduate Students at this time.

What is the WCU Managed Housing Application and Selection process for returning students?

  • December 18, 2023: 2024-2025 Academic Year Housing Application opens for WCU Managed buildings (accessed via myWCU) at 12:00pm (EST)
    • Submitting a $200 deposit will be part of the housing application
  • December 20, 2023: Roommate Matching Opens via myWCU
  • January 12, 2024: 2024-2025 Academic Year Housing Application closes at 12:00pm (EST) for WCU Managed buildings
  • January 12, 2024: 2024-2025 Academic Year Request to House application opens at 12:01pm (EST) for WCU Managed buildings
  • January 25, 2024: Housing selection emails; time slot assignment and instructions included
  • February 1-7, 2024: Housing selection opens based on time slot assignment
  • February 26, 2024: Returning students that selected housing are sent housing assignment and roommate information

How do I find housing off campus?

If I am commuting to campus, can I have a car/parking on campus?

Yes! There are special permits issued to commuter students for North and South Campus parking lots.  Visit the Parking Services website for more specific information and parking options.

Does the University guarantee housing? 

On campus housing is limited and not guaranteed for returning students. Housing is prioritized for first year students.

What are my options if I miss the application period WCU Managed Housing?

The WCU Managed Housing Application closes on January 12, 2024, at 12:00pm (EST). Students who miss the application period will be able to submit a Request to House application through the myWCU, myHousing portal to indicate their interest in on campus housing. Students who submit this application will be placed on the Request to House list and be provided housing as it becomes available according to their submission date.  

Is there going to be a waitlist for WCU Managed Housing?

 Once the application closes on January 12, 2024, at 12pm (EST) students will be able to submit a Fall 2024 Request to House Application indicating their interest in housing. WCU Managed Housing will begin working through the Request to House list as space becomes available. 

How do I remove my application from WCU Managed Housing? What is needed to cancel my housing application? 

WCU Managed: Students wishing to cancel their housing application/assignment before August 1, 2024, can do so with no penalty. Please email housing@wcupa.edu and submit a written request to cancel. 

How much does WCU Managed housing cost? 

Rates have not yet been approved for 2024-2025 but 2023-2024 rates can be found on the website at HOUSING RATES

Is there financial aid available to assist with housing costs?

Financial aid is unique to each individual student. Students interested in receiving financial aid should reach out to the Office of Financial Aid with any questions at finaid@wcupa.edu

When do I choose a meal plan? How much are meal plans? 

Meal plan selection will occur in the Spring 2024 semester. Meal plan rates have not yet been approved for 2024-2025 and can be found at HOUSING RATES. Please note that all residents living on North campus are required to have a Purple, Gold, or Ultimate meal plan. 

Am I able to select a roommate in WCU Managed Housing? 

Students will have the ability to designate a roommate preference. More information will be available in early December. Please note that roommate preferences are not guaranteed but will be taken into consideration.
