Residence Life & Housing Updates:
Community Days – Halloween Weekend October 30, 2026 – November 1, 2026
Community Days are designated periods when West Chester University and Residence Life & Housing encourage students to focus on building connections within their residential communities and the broader campus.
During Community Days, the University restricts guests who are not current WCU students from staying in the residence halls. While we understand and support students' desire to host guests, these designated periods are intentionally reserved to give residents time to connect with one another as roommates, neighbors, and community members.
These periods provide valuable opportunities to meet other Rams, build meaningful relationships, participate in campus traditions, and foster a sense of belonging within your residential community.
Thanksgiving Break – Residence Halls will be closed November 25, 2026 at 10am through November 29, 2026 at 12pm
Students must vacate the Residence Halls by 10am on Wednesday, November 25, 2026. The Residence Halls will reopen on Sunday, November 29, 2026 at 12pm.
Students who wish to receive an exception to stay over Thanksgiving Break can complete a Break Request Form to make this request. The form will open Tuesday, October 27 at 12pm and will close on Friday, November 20 at 12pm in your housing provider portal. Residents who are approved to stay will be notified via their WCUPA email prior to the break period on a rolling basis beginning in early November. Residents who are not approved to stay or do not complete the form on time will not be permitted to stay and should seek alternate arrangements.
2027-2028 Returning Student Housing Application Opens 1/11/27
The 2027-2028 Returning Student Housing Applications will open on January 11, 2027 at 12pm and close on January 21, 2027 at 12pm.
2027-2028 First Year and Transfer Student Housing Application
The 2027-2028 First Year and Transfer Student Application for On Campus Living will open in Spring 2027. New students beginning class in Fall 2027 may complete the application for living on campus in WCU Managed Housing or USH Affiliated Housing once the application is open.
