Break Housing
The residence halls are closed during the following University break periods: Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. Students may submit a request to stay for break. When available, a form can be accessed through your housing provider’s portal. As a reminder, requests are not guaranteed to be approved. We will review your request to ensure you meet one of the criteria to stay on campus. The approved criteria to stay on campus include:
- In-season athlete on an NCAA team
- Promise Program student
- International student
- Employee in WCU Office working over break (name of office; name and contact info of direct supervisor required for verification)
- Other extenuating circumstance (detailed explanation required in submission)
Please align all travel arrangements with the closing dates and times of the residence halls. Travel arrangements that extend past closing are not an approved criteria to remain on campus. Additionally, please note that employment off campus is not an approved criteria to remain on campus over break periods.
