BS FTC Fall 2019-Spring 2024 Post-Graduation Career Paths

As of Spring 2024, there are a total of 57 students enrolled in the BS FTC program of the Department of Chemistry. 26 students graduated with the BS in FTC degree between Spring 2021 and Spring 2024.

The chart shows our 2019 Fall to 2024 Spring graduates' post-graduation career paths within their first year of graduation. Of the 35 students who graduated in this time frame, 54% of graduates were employed as scientists in entry-level positions at analytical chemistry or pharmaceutical chemistry labs. 23% of students secured positions as forensic analysts either in a crime lab or a toxicology lab. Less than 10% of the students chose graduate school immediately after graduation. We do not have post-graduation information for two students and 2 of our most recent (May 2024) graduates are looking for employment.

92% of our graduates secured entry-level scientist positions within 6 months of graduation with a majority of them (69%) starting employment within 3 months of graduation. (n= 22)
