Confocal and Fluorescence Imaging

An Olympus IX83 inverted microscope with the following two modules (NSF award #1828211) provides fluorescence imaging capabilities.

Confocal Imaging: IXplore SpinSR spinning disk confocal microscope, with 3D super resolution imaging capabilities. Laser lines are provided to support all standard biological fluorophores (405 nm, 488 nm, 561 nm, 640 nm). DIC and bright-field imaging are also supported. Two Hamamatsu Flash4.0 V3 sCMOS, USB 3.0, 40 FPS cameras are used for data acquisition.

TIRF and smTIRF Imaging: Two additional laser lines (488 nm and 561 nm) are coupled into an Olympus CellTIRF illuminator for total internal reflection microscopy. These can be used the Flash4.0 V3 sCMOS, USB 3.0, 40 FPS cameras for both TIRF imaging and single-molecule spectroscopy.
