"I am current the Director of the Jefferson Comprehensive Concussion Center as an
employee for Rothman Institute. This is a multi-tiered collaborative initiative with
many healthcare providers helping those who have been concussed. I am also the Executive
Director for the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer's Society."
- Why did you choose WCU?
"I chose to go to West Chester for the opportunity to play soccer and be in close
proximity to home. As a child my life had revolved around sports, faith and service
to others. I wanted a career that would allow for me to capture my passions. Choosing
WCU allowed me the opportunity to design my curriculum around an emerging new program
of Athletic training."
- Did you complete an internship while at WCU?
"Yes, a portion of our educational experience was internship based. I had the opportunity
of completing internships at WCU, Swarthmore College, Brandywine Trauma Center as
well as adding an additional full time internship at a clinical facility, Sports Physical
Therapists, Inc."
- Advice for graduating seniors in your field?
"Develop and do not be afraid to utilize your network of people, colleagues, professors
and friends. Conversation and networking is almost a lost art. Make it part of your
day and it could be the key to start the career of a life time."
- Best memory of your time at WCU?
"Best memory of my time at West Chester is a great collection of memories; college
roommates, playing soccer, dancing at the RAT, outward bound bicycle trip through
Nova Scotia, daily road trips to Swarthmore College with colleagues, developing my
professional network and passing my national athletic training boards."
