"Assistant Professor / Athletic Trainer with Women's Rugby"
- How long have you been at WCU?
"3 years"
- How did you land at WCU?
"I knew WCU had a nationally recognized athletic training program; I wanted to have
the opportunity to teach athletic training and work as a clinician, while also conducting
research. There are very few positions across the US that offer all of these opportunities
to faculty."
- What's the best part of your job?
"The people I work with; the faculty, staff, and students make coming to my job not
feel like work. I love being around the people who make up this department."
- What do you wish you could share with all incoming first-year students?
"Get involved! This is an easy thing to do and will change your perspective, support
system, and environment to create a positive college experience."
- What do you wish you could share with all graduating seniors?
"Don't panic! Everything happens for a reason and things will fall into place. Trust
your gut, work hard to make positive first impressions, and don't forget how important
your professional connections are."
- What makes you most proud of WCU?
"The students we send off into the profession of athletic training. We are helping
shape the profession by educating and influencing undergraduate and graduate students
who will lead our profession some day. That's really something to be proud of."
