- Why did you choose WCU?
"The DNP program offered a small cohort. In addition, the majority of the courses
offered were online, which provided me the opportunity to continue working full time."
- Did you complete an internship while at WCU?
"No, I did not. However, the DNP program required practice hours. The practice hours
and many of the assignments encouraged students to spend time with politicians, nursing
administrators, and a variety of other influential leaders in health care."
- Advice for graduating seniors in your field?
"Reach for the sky! Nursing has so much to offer. Explore the profession and find
an area that allows you to be your best self."
- Is there anything you would do differently?
"No. I embraced the DNP program from start to finish and learned a great deal about
nursing. I see the profession through a broader lens and my perspective has never
been clearer."
- Best memory of your time at WCU?
"Serving at the Crossroads. The trip to Honduras was an unforgettable experience,
both rewarding and humbling. I was proud to represent WCU and participate in such
an incredible initiative."
