Commuter Assistants (CAs) are seasoned undergraduate students who act as peer mentors to first-year and transfer commuter students, guiding you through your first year a a Golden Ram! Your first year as a commuter can be overwhelming at times - consider getting connected with a CA to help you make the most of your first year at West Chester University. Ava Gerace (she/her)
Ava is a third year Early Grades Preparation major who commutes to campus from Birdsboro, PA. She also transferred to WCU from Montgomery County Community College. When Ava is not in class, she enjoys spending time with her family and her cats, reading, and listening to true crime podcasts. Her favorite place on campus is the Commuter Center and she is looking forward to meeting new students this year!
Dan Cochran (he/him)
Dan is a second year Criminal Justice major who commutes to campus from West Chester, PA. He is involved with the Criminal Justice Student Association and the Pre-Law Society. When he is on campus, Dan enjoys spending time in Sykes Student Union and in the Commuter Center. Outside of classes, Dan enjoys spending time with his family and his dog!
Iris Ortega-Rodriguez (she/her)
Iris is a third year Business Management major with minors in Business Law and Law, Politics and Society who commutes to campus from Horsham, PA. When she is on campus, Iris enjoys spending her time in Sykes Student Union and her favorite experience so far at WCU is Ramboree, a festival held on campus every spring.
Chloe Mattie (she/her)
Chloe is a second year Geosciences major with minors in French and Anthropology who commutes from West Chester, PA. She is involved with the Anthropology Club, Outdoor Club, and French Club. She also previously ran cross country at WCU. When she is not in class, Chloe loves to spend time outdoors hiking and when she is on campus she enjoys going to the rock wall in the Student Recreation Center.
Maria Mendez (she/her)
Maria is a second year Nutrition major who commutes to campus from Kennett Square, PA! When she is not in class, Maria enjoys spending time in the library and in the Commuter Center (located on the top floor of Sykes Student Union) hanging out with her friends. She is excited to join the Commuter Assistant team and can't wait to meet other commuter students this year!
Devin Gray (she/her)
Devin is a third year Social Work major who commutes to campus from Gap, PA and transferred from Harrisburg Area Community College. When she is on campus, she hosts a radio show at WCUR and is the secretary of the Phi Alpha Honor Society. When she is not in class, Devin likes to hang out at the radio station's office listening to music.
Nick Marino (he/him)
Nick is a third year Secondary Education major with a concentration in Physics who commutes from West Chester, PA and transferred from Montgomery County Community College. Nick is very involved on campus and can be found this summer working as an orientation leader! During the school year, he is involved with Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity, Friar's Society, RamTHON, Tri-Alpha First Generation Honors Society, and works as a Peer Educator with Wellness Promotion.
