We want to make the commencement ceremony a meaningful and enjoyable one for degree candidates and guests. If your question is answered here, contact us directly at commencement@wcupa.edu.

 

How long will the ceremony last?

Each comt ceremony will last approximately one hour.

When will tickets become available?

Graduates can reserve guest tickets beginning in March. Students will need to complete a Ticket Request Form, after the Ticket Request Form is completed, tickets are emailed to the graduate's @wcupa.edu email address.

Is there reserved seating?

With the exception of handicap seating, all tickets are general admission (no assigned seating).  Doors will open for seating one hour prior to each ceremony.

When will I receive my diploma?

Degrees are awarded within 6-8 weeks after final grades are posted for May (Spring) and December (Fall) graduating students. Once conferred, your degree will appear on your unofficial transcript within myWCU and on your official transcripts. It takes another 4-6 weeks for students to receive their West Chester University diploma.

Diplomas are sent to the home address we have on file. Please update your address on your myWCU account if you have moved.

When can I order an official copy of my transcripts that shows my degree was conferred?

Because it takes 6-8 weeks for degree conferrals to be completed for all students. We recommend you check your unofficial transcript to confirm your degree has been awarded before ordering your official transcripts. Here are instructions on how to order an official copy of your transcript.

Are children allowed to walk across the stage with their graduating parent?

Due to safety concerns, only the student graduating is permitted to walk across the stage.

Are animals allowed in Hollinger Fieldhouse?

Pets are not permitted in Asplundh Conert Hall, Phillips Memorial Green Room, Hollinger Field House or Ehinger Gymnasium except service dogs. Emotional support animals are not permitted.
