Research Projects

Our research lab is currently focused on the following projects:

  • Perceptions of Sexual Harassment Behaviors in the Workplace: Awareness of behaviors that are sexually charged within a work setting and the factors that influence the perceptions of severity of these behaviors. We are specifically looking at cultural values and their influence on perceived severity of such behaviors.
  • Student Behaviors and Values: Identifying predictors of student counterproductive (negative behaviors) and citizenship behaviors (positive behaviors) as well as factors that promote student engagement in the classroom.
  • Mindfulness in the Workplace: Mindfulness is defined as open and active attention to the present, commonly achieved through meditation. How does this effect human performance in work settings such as interview performance? Performance on selection tests?
  • Work-life Balance in Professional Conferences: One of our current projects is focused on reviewing conference programs and identifying the services offered by professional conferences to promote work-life balance for conference attendees and using this information to inform practice guidelines.
