      Continuation of MAT 161 including the study of series, methods of integration, transcendental functions, and applications to the sciences.

      Prerequisite: C or better in MAT 161.

    1. specific outcomes of instruction

      • Students will be able to apply properties of the integral to solve problems involving areas between curves, volumes of revolutions, arclength and surface area.
      • Students will be able to compute integrals using a variety of techniques such as: integration by parts, trigonometric substitution, and partial fraction decomposition.
      • Students will be able to determine the convergence or divergence of infinite sequences and series.
      • Students will be able to calculate and manipulate Taylor series.
