Internship Employer Information

Dear Employer,

It is our pleasure to provide services to our constituencies or communities like you. If you can provide internship opportunities to our students, we would like to hear from you. Our internship programs provide Computer Science undergraduate majors (6-credit CSC400), minors (3-credit CSC300), and graduate students (3-credit CSC605) valuable experiences prior to their graduation. On the other hand, employers like you may take this opportunity to introduce your companies to our students as well as provide a cost-effective way to complete short-term projects. It is definitely a "win-win" strategy.

Unlike some co-op programs sponsored by other universities, our internship programs seek job opportunities for our students to learn valuable working experiences without interrupting their academic career. Many, if not all, of our graduates can complete the internship during summer or winter. If you would like to participate in this program and become one of the success stories like many others, please contact me via e-mail and provide us the following job-related information:

  • Job Title:
  • Description:
  • Company:
  • Location:
  • Contact Person:
  • Contact Information:
  • Starting Date:
  • Paid or Unpaid:
  • Duration:

Regarding compensation, some valuable experiences are precious assets themselves. However, our students do pay tuition to WCU for taking the internship as a course. For tuition information in summer, please refer to the web page:

Summer Tuition

Upon receiving your information, I will post the opportunity in our internal job database. Interested students will contact you directly. You are free to determine the interview format, compensation, etc. At the end of the internship period, the student intern will provide you a blank Employer Comment Sheet for you to provide your evaluation and share your comments. We will determine the letter grade based on your evaluation. In this way the advertising of the job opportunities, the deployment, and the evaluation can be maintained electronically. Your comments also provide valuable suggestions for improvement to the Computer Science Assessment Coordinator.

Thank you very much for your assistance and potential participation. Please feel free to communicate with me via my contact information at the top of the page.
