Douglas McConatha, Ph.D.

Professor of Sociology

Douglas McConatha, Ph.D.

I encourage all students to consider a major in Sociology or Anthropology. The opportunities to see the world from an exciting vantage point are boundless. Come by and see me… I'll show you!

The Department is dedicated to exploring the real and virtual worlds we inhabit today. Groups and cultures around the globe have been the focus of our Anthropological and Sociological investigations for more than 40 years. Over the last ten years we have taken students to India, Peru and The Amazon, Ghana, Jamaica, Egypt and China as well as many US destinations for class projects, research, archeological excavations and many academic conferences. As we become a global culture both the faculty and students in the Department have challenged themselves to tackle important new question that face our disciplines and our society as a whole. We hope you will consider joining us!
