We are pleased to announce that our 2021 WCU High School Summer Music Institute will be offered as an in-person commuter day camp. All 2021 summer camp registration will take place online, and we expect our online registration to open on May 3rd.
West Chester University’s 60th annual High School Summer Music Institute will take place from Tuesday, July 6 through Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 10am-4pm. This commuter day camp is open to students currently (2020-21) in grades 9 through 12. Boxed lunches will be provided each day. Every student receives two 30-minute private lessons on their primary instrument or voice. Students will perform in a variety of ensembles, including wind ensemble, string orchestra, vocal ensemble, and various chamber ensembles. Students will also participate in music theory classes and sectional rehearsals/masterclasses.
The Institute’s faculty consists primarily of WCU Wells School of Music professors, all of whom are active performing artists in the Philadelphia region.

10am-11:15am: Ensemble rehearsals
11:30am-12:15pm: Music theory classes
1pm-3pm: Private lesson or individual practice
3pm-4pm: Sectional rehearsals/masterclasses

- Refund Policy: Partial refunds will only be issued after the receipt of a written cancellation notice. The Institute fee includes a $200.00 non-refundable deposit/processing fee. Refunds will not be granted after the Institute begins on July 6th.
