Athletic Training Programs
- Accelerated 3+2 BS and MS degree (Prospective First-Year Students): for individuals who do not have a bachelors and want to become an athletic trainer (Professional Graduate program). This degree path for traditional undergraduate students awards the B.S. in Sports Medicine Studies concentration and the M.S. in Athletic Training in 5 years of study.
- Master of Science degree in Athletic Training (Professional Graduate program: Post-Baccalaureate Students): for individuals whom already have a bachelor’s degree (not in athletic training) and are seeking initial certification as an athletic trainer.
- Master of Science degree in Athletic Training (Post-Professional Concentration): for individuals whom already have certification as an athletic trainer (Post-Professional Graduate program).
The Master of Science in Athletic Training professional program prepares students for the national Board of Certification (BOC) exam and a career as an Athletic Trainer. The Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (caATe) accepted our application for the degree change in December 2016. The newly accredited degree level for the WCU Athletic Training Program is the Master of Science in Athletic Training.
Physician Assistant Program
The Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at West Chester University will educate physician assistants who can think critically and collaborate with others to address the needs of individual patients and the healthcare community with the highest levels of academic, clinical, and cultural competence. This graduate program is a full-time, 26-month program. It is a day program in a face-to-face format, however, the clinical phase will require nights and weekend hours as well.
