FACULTY PRESENT AT THE SOCIETY FOR SOCIAL WORK AND RESEARCH

This past January, Dr. Casey Bohrman presented at the Society for Social Work Research (SSWR) with her colleague Dr. Julie A. Tennille. The presentation was entitled, Being Superwoman: Balancing Motherhood, Problem Drinking and Intimate Partner Violence

DR. BELLIVEAU ELECTED PRESIDENT OF PAUSWE!

Dr. Michele Belliveau, Chair of the Social Work Department, was elected President of PAUSWE (Pennsylvania Association of Undergraduate Social Work Educators) for the 2015 - 2016 cycle. As president, Dr. Belliveauis hoping that she can engage students in planning for the student track at the next PAUSWE conference that will be held in Valley Forge next fall. STUDENTS ATTEND NASW - PA/PAUSWE CONFERENCE

Social Work students attended the National Associating of Social Workers of PA/Pennsylvania Association of Undergraduate Social Work Educators conference this past October, 2015. Among the students were Victoria Moore and Eugene Scott(from the Philadelphia location) and Courtney Muzac and Melissa Pilat (West Chester).

PROFESSORS PRESENT AT NATIONAL SOCIAL WORK CONFERENCE

In October 2015, a number of the Social Work Department's professorspresented at the Annual Program Meeting Conference for the Council on Social Work Education, held in Denver, Colorado. Among the presentors and presentations:

  • Dr. Tiffany Lane presented, Mentoring Foster-Care Youth to Increase Educational Success
  • Dr. Tiffany Lane and Dr. Casey Bohrman presented, The Social Work Response to Police Brutality
  • Dr. Eli DeHope presented, The Need to Infuse Social-Neurology Content into Social Work Curriculum
  • Dr. Rick Voss presented, East German Elders Remember the fall of the Berlin Wall - 25 years later. A Qualitative Study.
  • Dr. Greg Tully presented, IASWG: Strategies for Integrating Group Work Content in Social Work Education

PROFESSOR APPOINTED TO MOTIVATIONAL NETWORK OF TRAINERS

Dr. Casey Bohrman was accepted into the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers program. This honor allows her to "train the trainers" in Berlin, Germany this past October, 2015.

PROFESSOR PUBLISHES BOOK

Dr. Travis Sky Ingersoll recently co-authored a book entitled, Sexuality Concepts for Social Workers. Dr. Eli DeHope was a contributor to this book.Congratulations Dr. Ingersoll!
