Responsibilities
As the Director of New Student Programs I oversee the programming and planning for the New Student Orientations Part 1: June and Part 2: August. I coordinate Transfer and Non-Traditional Orientation programming as well as New Student Success opportunities throughout the year. I am responsible for Welcome Week, the New Student Leadership Retreat "Soar," and Parent and Family Weekend events. I also serve on a number of University committees to ensure students' success as they transition from year to year at WCU.
New Student Advice
"As a new student to WCU I have four main recommendations to ensure a successful transition. One: Get involved in a club or organization! Two: Build a relationship with both your academic advisor and professors! Three: Utilize the Student Support Services on campus--these offices are here to help you! And Four: Check your WCU email often…many great opportunities or important information will come to you via your WCU email account. I look forward to meeting you at both Orientation Part 1 June and Orientation Part 2 August!"
