NEWS AND UPDATES (July 2020)

Students who need assistance locating food and basic resources in West Chester or elsewhere should contact Pam Frontino, Associate Director of Service-Learning & Volunteer Programs (and the Resource Pantry) at pfrontino@wcupa.edu.

Fall 2020 hours and online ordering:

ONLINE ORDR FORM: found here

To help maintain the health and safety of our students and staff during the covid-19 pandemic, the Resource Pantry will implement several adjustments to the student user experience this fall. Students will have the option of shopping directly at the Resource Pantry, or ordering items online.

In-person shopping will be limited to one student at a time, and hours will be limited (10am-2pm). Any student entering the Resource Pantry or Commonwealth Hall must wear a mask at all times.

If you would like to place an order online, please do so using this Ram-Connect form. Orders must be placed by 1pm for same-day pick-up. Orders can be picked up in the Resource Pantry conference room (inside Commonwealth Hall) between 2-4pm (M-F). Students must wear a mask when picking up orders.

Fall Donations:

The WCU Resource Pantry continues to rely on donations from community partner organizations, corporations, individuals, and our campus community. We are so grateful for your support. As we prepare to re-open our services to students, we are in need of many personal care and shelf-stable food items. For a list of suggested donation items, please refer to the "most needed items" section of our Donation page. Please note, we are particularly interested in receiving nutritious and healthy food items, to help maintain the health and well-being of our students.

You can also make a financial donation through the WCU Foundation. Financial donations are always helpful and necessary for maintaining our daily Pantry operations, and go toward food/supply purchases.

To ensure the safety of our students, donors, and staff, we ask that donations be delivered to West Chester University by appointment only. Donations will be accepted throughout the fall. To schedule a drop-off day/time, please email Pam Frontino at pfrontino@wcupa.edu.

THANK YOU for your kind support- we couldn't do it without you!

 AAUW "Gateway to Equity" Award

We are pleased to share that the WCU Resource Pantry was once again selected to receive the 'Gateway to Equity Award' by the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The award honors an individual, group, or organization that has shown by action and philosophy the promotion of the AAUW mission to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. As their selected organization, the local branch of the AAUW will dedicate this coming academic year to providing the Pantry with in-kind donations such as personal care products, winter clothing, gift cards, and educational supplies. We are extremely grateful for this recognition and support!
