Registration: Undergraduate Non-Degree - Current and Former College Students

Information for Current and Former College Students

Current or Former College Students

West Chester University welcomes current college students from other institutions, allowing them the opportunity to broaden their college experience and supplement their undergraduate programs. West Chester University also supports former students who did not have the chance to complete their college education or who are interested in taking classes for personal or professional development.

Any current college students taking classes at West Chester University for the purpose of having the credits transferred to their home institution are responsible to determine if the home institution will accept the credits earned. Students must arrange to have an official transcript sent from West Chester University to the home institution, with exception to the students who participate in the PA State System (formerly PASSHE) Visiting Student Program.

Visiting Students from a PA State System School (PASSHE Visiting Student)

Do you attend another school in the PA State System?

West Chester University is a member of the PA State System or Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (formerly PASSHE). As a member, we can offer our students, as well as students who attend other PA State System institutions, a larger variety of classes without loss of institutional residency, eligibility for honors or athletics, or credits towards graduation at the home institution.

Not sure if your institution is a PA State System institution?  Please visit this website to check: passhe.edu

Once the online non-degree application is completed, the student will be emailed the PASSHE Visiting Student Status Form. If the student is interested in having the grade and credit transferred back to their home institution, this form must be completed prior to the student being registered for the class. If the student is only interested in having the credit transferred, this form does not need to be completed.

Completion of the PASSHE Visiting Student Status Form will also authorize the release of the student transcript from West Chester University to the home university, therefore the student is not required to order an official transcript.

Students may not use the Visiting Student program to repeat courses. Student are also not permitted to use this program for an internship or practica that is required for licensure or certification without the express written permission of their appropriate university officials at the home university and placement availability at the requested institution.
