As you prepare for the academic year, you may be feeling a range of emotions: excited, eager, perhaps a bit stressed or anxious, too. Rest assured, all of us at WCU are ready to assist – from the Move-in Day teams at the residence halls to help with the heavy lifting to the bookstore staff who will ensure you buy the right books for the right class.
One of the best ways to make a successful transition to college is to engage with other members of the campus community and make connections. I invite you to get off to the right start by joining my wife, Sue, and me, for a Welcome Dinner at Lawrence Dining Hall on August 23.

President's Dinner: 5:10-6:00 PM, Lawrence Dining Hall

Students living in Goshen, Schmidt and Tyson Halls
Welcome: 5:05-6:05 PM, Asplundh Concert Hall

Whether you'll be commuting or living in the residence halls, this Welcome Dinner provides the perfect opportunity to meet new people and perhaps even make a new friend. Student Affairs staff will be on hand to help you learn about WCU's student organizations, intramural sports, volunteer programs, and other co-curricular activities.
