M.S. in Nursing (with Accelerated B.S.N.)
Formerly known as the Advance 2 MSN program.
The M.S. in Nursing (with Accelerated B.S.N.) program is designed for students who already hold a baccalaureate degree and wish to achieve a BSN and MSN plus qualify to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for the Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). Students finish the program with an MSN/Leadership focus. This intensive 24-month program builds upon the student's previous education.
The M.S. in Nursing (with Accelerated B.S.N.) program is designed for bachelor's degree holders seeking a new career in nursing. It particularly addresses the critical demand for graduate-level nurses in underserved and rural communities. Aiming to enhance diversity in the field, we welcome applicants from various backgrounds, offering them a unique opportunity to redirect their skills into nursing.

M.S. in Nursing (with Accelerated B.S.N.) Information Sessions

M.S. in Nursing (with Accelerated B.S.N.) Program Information
- Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until the December 1 deadline.
- One cohort of approximately 30-40 students is accepted each year. Each cohort begins in January and completes requirements 24 months later.
- The program aligns with traditional BSN outcomes, with extra emphasis on Graduate Studies.
- Follows the core MSN curriculum with specialty courses in leadership.
- Classes are held on weekdays in the summer semesters. In the fall and spring semesters, classes are held on weekdays with clinicals on either weekdays or weekends. A flexible schedule is necessary to meet clinical requirements.

Admissions Process:
- Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Verification of completed prerequisite courses, which include Pathophysiology, Psychology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Statistics, Developmental Psychology, Nutrition, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 (with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above within the last 5 years for Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2)
- Official academic transcript(s) from all colleges and universities attended, demonstrating a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.8 or better
- Two letters of recommendation
- TEAS score of 75 or better
- All pre-requisite courses must be completed by the onset of the program.
- Candidate reviews begin in August. or after a significant number of applications are verified. As the program utilizes rolling admissions, it may be to a candidate’s advantage to apply as early as possible.
