Brandywine Project Staff Sustainability Workshop Is November 3
How green is your office?
Share ideas about implementing or expanding environmentally friendly practices on campus with colleagues from all departments at the free Brandywine Project Staff Sustainability Workshop on Friday, November 3. Registration is still open and repeat participants are welcome.
The University’s Green Office Program (GOP) is an example of how the Brandywine Project workshops can inspire. GOP was developed by a small team of WCU staff members motivated to make a change through conversations during breakout sessions of one of the Brandywine Project Staff Sustainability Workshops. The program now offers our employees helpful guides divided into separate information sheets: transportation, energy use, dining and catering, waste and recycling, purchasing, working digitally, and campus printing. Checklists encourage users to track progress; the sheets include links, contact information, and useful facts.
In addition, the Green Office Team has created a Green Office Community Sharepoint site where WCU employees can connect and share ideas and resources. The idea is to encourage everyone in the campus community to help the University’s Green Office Program evolve and improve.
Since the first Brandywine Project workshop in the fall 2017 semester, more than 140 WCU employees have participated, meeting and networking with colleagues, learning about progress on the University’s ambitious sustainability goals, and contributing thoughts about collaborative solutions.
The Brandywine Project Staff Sustainability Workshop takes place Friday, November 3, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in SECC 101-A. Light vegetarian breakfast and lunch are included.
