The Brandywine Project Staff Workshop
Fall 2023 Workshop Was a Success!
The date for the Spring 2024 workshop has not yet been set. Check back in the new year for updates.
WCU staff members are invited to participate in the next Brandywine Project Staff Sustainability Workshop. WCU's Brandywine Staff workshops provide a space for staff members well versed and new to concepts of environmental, social, and economic sustainability, grow in their knowledge and impact for good. Participants will learn more about the history of sustainability at WCU, ongoing local efforts and initiatives (including the Green Office Program), and participate in a number of breakout sessions aimed at collaboratively envisioning solutions to sustainability hurdles in the workplace.
Brandywine Project Faculty Workshop
Our next workshop's dates have not yet been set. We're hoping to offer a new and expanded version of the Brandywine Faculty Workshop in the summer of 2024 and are working with collaborators from across the Commonwealth to make this happen. Check back in early of 2024 for an update.
Last Workshop: Winter 2022
In January 2022, faculty from West Chester University and neighboring communities participated in the 4th Brandywine Project Workshop. Named after the Brandywine Creek watershed, WCU's workshop innovates by comprehensively integrating the local and global with the social, economic, and environmental aspects of sustainability. Novel workshop sessions include: the global context for higher education and sustainability (including the UN Sustainable Development Goals); social justice and sustainability; integrating whole campus immersive learning into the classroom; and best practices for teaching sustainability from students and faculty. Participants left the workshop ready to infuse sustainability knowledge and practices into their own courses and to inspire their students and colleagues to grow a culture of sustainability at their universities and beyond.
