Biography
Dr. Karahan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at West Chester University. Dr. Karahan earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Marmara University in 2005. Following his graduation, Dr. Karahan worked for different banks in Turkey for four years before deciding to pursue a career in academia. He then earned a M.S. in Finance from West Virginia University, and his Ph.D. in Finance at University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Karahan's research generally focuses on empirical corporate finance. More specifically, his interest is in corporate structure and its implications on firm value and economic activity. Dr. Karahan has previously taught courses in Corporate Finance, Investments, and Derivatives. While at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Karahan was honored for excellence in the classroom by being recognized in the Dean's List of Teaching Excellence.
