About The Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center
The Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center at West Chester University, promotes entrepreneurship within the university, in Chester County, and throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania
The Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center's primary goals are:
- To inspire students to engage in entrepreneurial ventures by exposing them first hand to entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial environments
- To foster economic development in the region by assisting startup firms as they move toward economic viability
- To foster entrepreneurship literacy
The Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center provides access to the many resources of West Chester University and The College of Business and Public Affairs by offering seminars and workshops, guest lectures, internships and online resources, as well as providing consulting teams to assist startup organizations. Each year the center hosts a speaker series featuring our distinguished alumni and regional leaders in the entrepreneurship process. The work of the center furthers the mission of West Chester University to be the "leading educational and cultural resource and partner in fostering the economic, social, and cultural vitality of southeastern Pennsylvania."
The Center is under the direction of Monica A. Zimmerman, PhD, CPA. Dr. Zimmerman is a Professor of Management in the College of Business and Public Affairs at West Chester University.
Located at the West Chester University Graduate Center (GC), the Dr. Edwin Cottrell Entrepreneurial Leadership Center's resources are easily accessible and many of the resources are free and available to the public.
Funding for the center has been provided by Claire and Gary Daniels, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), and the West Chester College of Business and Public Affairs.
