West Chester University is proud to host the 2027 Intercollegiate Student Chemists Convention on Saturday, April 10, 2027. ISCC brings undergraduate researchers, faculty mentors, and chemistry professionals from colleges and universities across the region together for a day of student presentations, scientific exchange, professional connection, and community building.
About the ISCC:
The ISCC provides undergraduate chemists with an opportunity to communicate their research in a professional conference environment, learn from peers across institutions, receive constructive feedback, and celebrate the breadth of undergraduate scholarship in chemistry and biochemistry.

The Intercollegiate Student Chemists Convention celebrates undergraduate scholarship across the chemical sciences. Students are invited to share their work through oral presentations representing inorganic, organic, physical, analytical, and biological chemistry while engaging with peers, faculty, and professionals from institutions throughout the region.
More than a research showcase, ISCC provides emerging scientists with an opportunity to communicate their work, receive meaningful feedback, build confidence in their scientific identity, and become part of a broader community of chemists.

Russell J. Composto, Ph.D.
University of Pennsylvania
Closing Keynote Speaker
Russell J. Composto is Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and a Gettysburg College alumnus whose career reflects a deep commitment to research, education, and the value of scholarship at primarily undergraduate institutions.
Dr. Composto will deliver the closing keynote address for ISCC 2027, bringing students together at the end of the convention to reflect on scientific discovery, the development of a life in chemistry, and the opportunities that emerge when undergraduate researchers are empowered to see themselves as members of the scientific community.
