Amanda H.L. Transue-Woolston, MSS, LSW is a BSW graduate of West Chester University and a graduate of the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research at Bryn Mawr College with a Master’s in Social Service in Clinical Social Work. Professor Woolston is an author, contributor, or editor to more than one dozen books and popular articles related to social work and adoption. She has been part of the ground work of social campaigns reaching more than 30 million households, has testified before Congress, and is regarded as an expert witness to the Children and Youth Committee for the PA House of Representatives. In addition to teaching and lecturing, professor Woolston serves as a psychotherapist in community mental health practice with a focus in adoption, foster care, and placement stability. She lives in the greater Philadelphia area with her partner, two sons, three dogs, and a cat.
