Bachelor of Science in Education

The Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) grades 7-12  is designed to provide a broad background in general education, an understanding of children and young adolescents, as well as the knowledge and skills needed to teach them. The BSEd in Secondary Education also provides the necessary content in a chosen discipline to teach grades 7-12. Upon satisfactory completion of the approved program, and related PDE requirements, the student will qualify for a Grades 7-12 Pennsylvania Instructional I Certificate, valid for six years of teaching the chosen discipline. Each of the following programs also has a dual major option when the candidates also received their Special Education certification.
