Shalie Williams:
Advance-standing MSW student, Shalie Williams, is in the spotlight for being one of the recipients of the 2023 Virgil L. James Sr. HERO Scholarship. Shalie works with 215 People's Alliance which helps to advance racial and economic justice. In this alliance, Shalie worked with Voices of the Unheard which collects and shares stories about individuals who are in the carceral system. The work being done is to advocate for a transformative justice approach that will cultivate healing, accountability, and resilience. After graduating in May 2023, Shalie plans to get his Ph.D. and become a university professor. Congratulations, Shalie!
