What I Do
Provide leadership for the graduate social work program. This involves working with the faculty in setting the strategic direction of the program, developing and revising curriculum, and ensuring that the program aligns with accreditation standards and best practices. I often work in the community, fostering partnerships with social work agencies and organizations in the community to facilitate practicums and collaborative research opportunities for students and faculty. I also represent the department to the University community as well as to external stakeholders such as alumni and social work organizations, advocating for the program’s needs and promoting our successes.
Source of Inspiration
My inspiration comes from my commitment to social justice and equity. I have a passion for addressing social and systemic injustices and this influences my teaching, service, and scholarship. I continue to be inspired by my students and their desire to make a positive impact in the world, particularly improving the lives of marginalized and vulnerable populations.
