WCU CHEER CLAIMS SECOND AT UCA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The WCU Cheer Team’s “Game Day” performance earned second place at the Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) 2026 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship held in Orlando, FL, in January. The team competed against 29 other Division I teams from across the nation. The 2026 championship also marked a milestone year for WCU Cheer, as the team competed for the first time in the All Girl Division I “Traditional” and Girls 4 Group Stunt categories, placing 10th and 16th (out of 42 teams), respectively. UCA and UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship is the culmination of the competitive season for collegiate cheerleaders and dancers nationwide, and is widely regarded as the most prestigious championship in the sport.
