BACHELOR OF ARTS IN WOMEN'S AND GENDER STUDIES

30 Semester Credit Hours:

Required courses (15 Credits)

Courses should be taken in the order listed below

  • WOS 240: How to do things with Feminism
  • WOS 306: Transnational Feminism
  • WOS 399: Women of Color and Material Culture
  • WOS 405: Feminist Theory ( or PHI 405; formerly WOS/PHI 385) prereg 6 additional WOS credits
  • WOS 410: Feminist Research Methodologies (Capstone) (prereq WOS240 and 6 additional WOS credits)
  • Elective Courses (15 credits)
    • With an advisor, students may choose other WOS and cross-listed courses
    • No more then 3 courses/ 9 credits may be taken in any one department (except Women's and Gender Studies)
    • At least 2 courses/6 credits must be completed at the 300-400 level


 
MINOR IN WOMEN'S AND GENDER STUDIES

18 Semester Credit Hours:

  • WOS 225: Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies (Required)
  • WOS 405: Feminist Theory (Required-formerly WOS385) prereq-student must have taken two prior WOS courses
  • Elective Courses (four of them):
    • Students may choose other WOS and cross-listed courses
    • No more than two courses may be taken in a single department (except in Women's and Gender Studies)
    • Additional courses may be applied to the minor with the approval of the Chair of  Women's and Gender Studies
    • WOS 305 is strongly encouraged
