Updating your Handshake Email Address
You have continued access to Handshake as an alumnus but you must update your update your primary email from your WCU school email to a personal email address.
How to Update Your Handshake Email:
- Log in to your Handshake account (wcupa.joinhandshake.com) using the Single Sign On with your current school email and password.
- Click your account icon in the upper-right corner and select Settings.
- Select Account Access.
- Click Add another email , enter your preferred personal email address and click Save.
- Verify the change: Check your personal email inbox for a verification email from Handshake. You have 7 days to confirm this change.
- Once confirmed, return to the Account Access section of your Handshake account.
- Click the three dots next to your new personal email in settings and select Make Primary.
Important Tips:
- Set a new password: If you currently use Single Sign-On (SSO) to log in, you will need to set a Handshake-specific password after changing your email.
- Do not create a new account: If you already have a personal email account for Handshake, please contact Handshake support to merge or delete the old one rather than creating a duplicate, which can cause issues. Please note that Handshake only allows one account per email address across the platform, so if you have an account with another university, then use a different personal email address on the WCU Handshake platform.
- Please complete this update BEFORE your graduation date.
