Updating your Handshake Email Address

You have continued access to Handshake as an alumnus but you must update your  update your primary email from your WCU school email to a personal email address. 

How to Update Your Handshake Email: 

  1. Log in to your Handshake account (wcupa.joinhandshake.com) using the Single Sign On with your current school email and password.
  2. Click your account icon in the upper-right corner and select  Settings.
  3. Select Account Access.
  4. Click  Add another email , enter your preferred personal email address and click Save.
  5.  Verify the change: Check your personal email inbox for a verification email from Handshake. You have 7 days to confirm this change.
  6. Once confirmed, return to the Account Access section of your Handshake account.
  7. Click the three dots next to your new personal email in settings and select  Make Primary.

Important Tips:

  • Set a new password:  If you currently use Single Sign-On (SSO) to log in, you will need to set a Handshake-specific password after changing your email.
  • Do not create a new account:  If you already have a personal email account for Handshake, please contact Handshake support to merge or delete the old one rather than creating a duplicate, which can cause issues. Please note that Handshake only allows one account per email address across the platform, so if you have an account with another university, then use a different personal email address on the WCU Handshake platform.
  •  Please complete this update BEFORE your graduation date.
