Upon completion, you’ll be ready for the licensing exam and poised to begin clinical practice as an MSN-prepared clinician.

The MSN with Accelerated BSN program is a cohort model, which provides our students with opportunities to network and form relationships with classmates who will someday be colleagues and with faculty and staff. Clinical placements help our students connect to the community and patients while giving them hands-on training.

Clinical & Practicum Placements

As a student in WCU’s Master of Science in Nursing with an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, you’ll complete both clinical (at the undergraduate level) and practicum (at the graduate level) placements. During your undergraduate coursework, you’ll participate in a group clinical experience supervised by a WCU clinical instructor. At the graduate level, you’ll participate in an individual practicum placement with a preceptor at an affiliated agency who will supervise and guide you throughout your immersion.

The CDC also hosts employment fairs on campus throughout the year.

Mix of In-Person, Online, and Hybrid Courses

The MSN/BSN program is an intensive 24-month program that combines undergraduate and graduate-level coursework. All undergraduate courses are completed in person at WCU’s newest facility, the Sciences and Engineering Center & Commons, where students learn in the state-of-the-art Immersive Learning Center featuring advanced simulation labs for hands-on, real-world clinical training in a supportive environment. Master’s level courses are a mix of fully online and hybrid work. All clinical placements are in-person.
