Dr. Tennille has been awarded the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award for her innovations in education in the West Chester University Graduate School of Social Work. Dr. Tennille was awarded the Lindback due to her contributions for developing the Observed Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) experience for MSW students along with the support of fellow WCU associate professor of theatre, Charlie DelMarcelle.

Dr. Tennille oversees the grant provided to WCU from the Health and Human Services Department's Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). MSW students are provided a stipend to become involved in the Education and Programming in Integrated Care (EPIC) program. Dr. Tennille teaches general and field practicum courses along with developing an elective course on Motivational Interviewing (MI). Dr. Tennille plans to give back to MSW and theatre students through the form of scholarships from the Lindback award stipend.
