It’s Family Game Night for Homecoming 2024
Family Game Night is the theme for WCU’s 2024 Homecoming and Family Weekend, taking place Friday, October 25 through Sunday, October 27. Golden Rams alumni will be back on campus to join current students and the campus community not only for Saturday’s football game against Millersville but also for a block party, reunions, historical campus walking tours, planetarium shows, food, music, and more.
On Friday, October 25, at 8 p.m., WCULive! presents comedian Trey Kennedy, who found fame on the mobile app Vine, amassing more than 2.5 million followers. He has continued his social media success on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok where he has a combined 12+ million followers. He currently hosts the podcast Correct Opinions and has a self-produced comedy special Are You For Real? on YouTube. His goal is to create fun, relatable content and deliver joy where it's needed to help people find common ground through comedy. Tickets are $40 and under. Get tickets here or call 610-436-2266.
Of note this year is an opportunity to meet Dr. Laurie Bernotsky, the 16th president of West Chester University, on Saturday, October 26, at the WCU President’s Breakfast. Over a buffet breakfast, attendees will learn about her history at WCU, the importance of families as partners during their student's journey here on campus, and goals for her presidency. Also in attendance: new Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Jasmine Buxton, who will discuss the Division of Student Affairs and how they partner with families for student success; Dr. Lisa Montgomery, director of parent and family relations; and members of the current Ram Fam Council. The event takes place in Sykes Ballrooms from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $12 (gift included). Register here.
Continue the fun Saturday with Ramily Game Night, a free board game block party suitable for the whole family along Shack’s Way, at Church Street and University Avenue in front of the Sciences & Engineering Center and The Commons. Enjoy life-size family board games, inflatables, caricaturists, face painting, student vendors, flowers to take, roaming magician, food trucks, and more. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kickoff for the WCU vs. Millersville football game on Saturday, October 26, is at 2 p.m. Gates open at 12 p.m.
