MORE GOLDEN RAM SPIRIT
Following the parade, which runs from 10 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m. along West Rosedale Avenue in front of Sykes Student Union, stroll along Church Street between Rosedale and Sharpless Street and into a festive carnival atmosphere. This free all-ages event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine). The Golden Rams tradition of a parade, pre-game party, and football will be expanded for this year's Homecoming Weekend with a new event: the University's first-ever Church Street Fest.
In addition to inflatable games for all ages (hippo chow down, rock slide/slippery slope, inflatable Skeeball, wrecking ball, plus a Dalmatian moonwalk especially for children), there will be free carnival food such as cider, donuts, cookies, popcorn, and cotton candy. Food trucks will also be on site for guests to purchase something more substantial.
Listen to music including WCU's a cappella group The Suspensions. Meet Rammy and take complimentary photos at the ram statue photo booth. Students from various student organizations are staffing some of the interactive activities, including those in the 12-and-under "kids zone," such as face painting and pumpkin painting. Among other family-friendly activities are Rockin' Shot Basketball, temporary tattoos, cornhole, giveaway goodie bags and balloons, and, since it's Halloween weekend, a costume parade and a "haunted" house.
The entire West Chester area community is welcome to join alumni, friends, and family to help inaugurate the free, family-friendly Church Street Fest, the University's newest Homecoming Weekend tradition. The Pre-Game Food Truck Festival/Baggo Tournament will still take place from 12 to 3 p.m. in R Lot adjacent to the stadium.
