West Chester University’s Department of Art + Design Showcases the Work of 2020 Graduates in Public Exhibit
Though most arts events on West Chester University’s campus have been postponed or are being delivered as virtual events this fall, the Department of Art + Design recently launched a public, live exhibit to showcase the work of 2020 BFA graduates.
The BFA exhibition is a yearly display of graduating Senior's capstone projects. Called “The Senior Show" in the department, each student works on their capstone body of work for the duration of the semester, and the exhibit showcases a breadth of work from the graduating class. Normally on display at the end of the spring semester, this year’s exhibit was postponed due to the COVID-19 shut-down and rescheduled for the fall semester when students and faculty could gain access to the gallery.
Faculty curator and associate professor of Art Andrew Snyder says, “The Art + Design Department uses the gallery as another classroom. We believe it’s vital for artists to share their work, and wanted to give our 2020 graduates their time to shine since their opportunity was missed in the spring.”
Viewing of the exhibit is by appointment only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please call 610.436.2755 or email Laurie Moran at firstname.lastname@example.org to request an appointment.
