West Chester U.’s CRITERIONS JAZZ ENSEMBLE to Perform FREE Concert on Friday, September 27

Sept. 27 - Criterions Jazz Ensemble Performs FREE Concert

The West Chester University Wells School of Music proudly presents the Criterions Jazz Ensemble and the Honors Jazz Combo in concert on Friday, September 27 at 7:30 p.m., in the Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre, Swope Music Building and Performing Arts Center, 817 S. High Street, West Chester. Marc Jacoby directs. The event is FREE and open to the public.

The Criterions is the longest running University jazz band in the country. The 18-member ensemble performs with the Honors Jazz Combo, comprised of Jazz majors and more advanced players who are selected to the group by audition. Both groups will perform a variety of classic, big-band, and traditional and contemporary jazz songs made famous by composers and arrangers such as Quincy Jones, Sammy Nestico, Rob McConnell and John Clayton.

Instrumental and vocal numbers including Ain’t Misbehavin’, I’m Beginning to See the Light, and On the Sunny Side of the Street, are all performed. Vocal numbers feature Bucks County native and solo vocalist, Katelyn Lopez.
