Biography

Dr. Sendy Alcidonis brings over 15 years of professional experience working in a variety of settings as an administrator, researcher, trainer and university instructor. In addition to occasionally serving as a temporary faculty member in the Geography & Planning Department, Dr. Alcidonis currently serves as the Senior Director for the Center for Women & Gender Equity at West Chester University.

Dr. Alcidonis' research and teaching experience are in the areas of feminist geography, feminist theory, and urban studies. Specifically, her research has examined how the knowledge and ideologies circulated within gender-specific social networks shape the labor market experiences of immigrant men and women in care work industries. Sendy has also devoted much of her teaching and research to examining the theoretical, methodological and practical implications of the feminist theory of intersectionality. She is deeply committed to exploring the critical social issues of the 21st century particularly those related to gender equity!
