Frequently Asked Questions

Event Overview

When does Ramboree take place?

Friday, May 1, 2026 from 5-10 pm in Ram Park behind Sykes Student Union.

Is there a rain date?

Ramboree will be held rain or shine on Friday, May 1, 2026. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be modified and held inside Hollinger Field House.

Who can attend Ramboree?

Ramboree is open to all West Chester University students, staff, faculty, alumni, and guests.  All attendees will need to complete an event waiver to participate in the rides or activities. WCU students, staff, and faculty will be asked to present their Ram Card ID at check-in to speed up the check-in process.

Do I need to buy tickets for this event? Do the attractions cost money?

Ramboree is a free event for all invited and there is no cost to participate in the rides or attractions. Food vouchers will be available only for WCU students in limited quantity. Any student, staff, faculty, alumni, or guest without food vouchers are welcome to pay for the food trucks via cash/card. See the food truck page for more information!

I am WCU staff, faculty, or a non-WCU guest. What can I participate in?

We're excited to welcome staff, faculty, and guests to enjoy Ramboree alongside students! All attendees are invited to take part in the available rides, activities, and entertainment by completing an event waiver. New this year, we will be hosting a Family Zone which will feature family-friendly offerings for community members, staff, and faculty.

Some event elements, such as student giveaways and vouchers, are reserved for WCU students as Ramboree is designed to be a student-centered celebration.

Where do I enter this event?

If you are a WCU student who completed the pre-registration and received your event wristband, you are welcome to skip the line and enter the event at Ram Park as early as 5:00 pm.

All other attendees must visit the check-in area at the northeast corner of Ram Park near the University Store to fill out an event waiver and receive a wristband. Please note that Roslyn Ave. will be closed to through traffic between Rosedale and Norfolk.

Are we able to re-enter the event once we leave?

Yes, anyone may re-enter the event.

Where are the restrooms?

The nearest restrooms are in Sykes Student Union on the 2nd, 1st, and ground floors. Each of these floors have men’s and women’s rooms and the ground floor also offers two single-user restrooms with changing tables near EcoGrounds (turn right when coming into the ground floor entrance).

What if there is a medical or other emergency?

There will be an EMS table available near RamPark adjacent to the Pump House (8 on the map below) and Public Safety will be in attendance.

When do the parking lots close?

The commuter lot behind Sykes Student Union (Lot K) will close starting Thursday, April 30 at 5pm and will reopen Saturday, May 2. Students with cars remaining after this time will be towed. The back portion of Lot K will remain open for student parking. The employee lot across from Ram Park (Lot L) will be closed starting on Wednesday, April 29 at 5:00 pm and will reopen on Saturday, May 2.

To help offset these temporarily closed lots, the New Street Garage and The Commons Garage will be open at no cost starting at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29. The gates will close promptly at 12pm on May 2nd. Campus-wide communication regarding parking lot closures will come via an email from Public Safety.

Pre-Registration

What is pre-registration?

Ramboree pre-registration allows WCU students to fill out the event waiver ahead of time, saving you from waiting in a potentially long line the day of the event. For Ramboree 2026, the first 1,500 students who complete the pre-registration form when it goes live will receive their wristband and food vouchers the morning of Ramboree on Friday, May 1st.

How do I sign up for pre-registration?

An email will be sent on Monday, April 27th notifying all WCU students that pre-registration is open. Pre-registration will be open until it reaches 1,500 students and will automatically close once it reaches this number. Pre-registration is only available for WCU students, not staff or faculty.

If you hope to secure your Ramboree wristband, merch voucher, and food vouchers early, pre-registration is the way to go! Please note, wristbands, merch vouchers, and food vouchers will still be available at the event check-in starting at 5:00 pm, even after pre-registration closes.

What do I get with pre-registration?

Pre-registration allows you to complete the event waiver ahead of time which guarantees you:

  • Event Wristband
    • Includes one merch voucher and two food vouchers that can be claimed at Ramboree
  • Exclusive Merch
    • All pre-registered students will receive an exclusive Ramboree stadium cup
  • Skip the Line
    • Pre-registered students get to avoid potentially long lines at the event check-in by entering the event first

How does the merch voucher work?

This year, we are approaching our giveaways (including t-shirts) a bit differently. Rather than receiving a Ramboree t-shirt at the pre-registration pick-up, your wristband will include one merch voucher. This merch voucher can be claimed, while supplies last, at Ramboree at one of three merch tables through the event. Students will have the opportunity to choose one of the following giveaway items:

  • Ramboree T-shirt
  • Ramboree Cowboy Hat
  • Ramboree Tote Bag

This new approach gives students the flexibility to pick the item they actually want and will enjoy most. All giveaways are only available while supplies last.

I've pre-registered, now what do I do?

Once you have pre-registered, you will receive an email with further instructions including when and where to pick up your wristband.

Rides, Activites, & Free Giveaways

What rides and activities are available at this event?

Ramboree 2026 will feature four main rides: a ferris wheel, swings, the Tornado, and the Rockstar. Additionally, there will be many activities for all to participate in while supplies last including a flower truck, photo booth, balloon and body art, petting zoo, mechanical bull, axe throwing, and tons of carnival games!

How can I get a Ramboree t-shirt?

This year, we are approaching our Ramboree merch (including t-shirts) a bit differently. To receive a Ramboree t-shirt, you'll need a merch voucher on your event wristband. Merch vouchers are guaranteed for those who complete pre-registration and additional quantities of wristbands with merch vouchers are available for students who check-in during the event while supplies last.

If your wristband includes a merch voucher, you can redeem it at the event for one of the following items:

  • Ramboree T-shirt
  • Ramboree Cowboy Hat
  • Ramboree Tote Bag

This new approach gives students the flexibility to pick an item they actually want and will enjoy the most. All merch giveaways are only available while supplies last.

What free merchandise will be available?

As stated above, there will be three options for event merch, all while supplies last.

  • Ramboree T-shirt
  • Ramboree Cowboy Hat
  • Ramboree Tote Bag

If your wristband includes a merch voucher, you can visit one of the giveaway merch tables at the event to claim your giveaway. In addition to those listed above, we will have plenty of additional smaller freebies including stickers, pins, and more!

Food & Beverages

Will food be available at this event?

Yes! Ramboree 2026 will include 9 food trucks available to all attendees while supplies last. See the food truck page for more information about how food vouchers work!

Will there be vegan and/or vegetarian options?

Yes. Several trucks will have vegetarian options on their menus. For other dietary accommodations, please check with the truck.

Is there a cost for the food?

Food truck vouchers are built into the event wristbands and will be available in limited quantity for WCU students. A total of 2,500 wristbands will include food vouchers. Of those, 1,500 wristband with food vouchers are reserved for students who complete the pre-registration (more information coming soon!). The remaining 1,000 wristbands with food vouchers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the event check-in beginning at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 1st.

Anyone who does not receive food vouchers is welcome to purchase food from the available trucks while supplies last and will be responsible for the cost.

Where can I get water/beverages?

There are water stations at various points around Sykes Union and beverages are for sale at the food trucks. Water fountains are also available in Sykes Student Union on the 2nd, 1st, and ground floors.
