Event Overview, Logistics, & Safety

When does Ramboree take place? 

Friday, May 3 from 3-8 in Ram Park 

Is there a rain date?   

No, we have ordered sunny and 75-degree weather! In case of inclement weather, the event will be modified and held inside Hollinger Field House.  

Who can attend Ramboree? 

Ramboree is open to all West Chester University students, staff, faculty, alumni, and their families.  

Do I need to buy tickets for this event? Do the attractions cost money? 

Other than the food trucks, none of the attractions cost money or require tickets. Food tokens with a value of $15 will be given to approx. 1300 undergraduate students while supplies last. 

Where do I enter this event? 

If you are a WCU student who wishes to pick up your free t-shirt and food tokens, you may enter at the northeast corner of Ram Park near the University Store. All attendees who plan on participating in any of the rides or activities must visit the check-in area  (1A on the map below) to fill out a waiver and receive a wristband. Otherwise, you may enter the event from any side of Ram Park as it will not be closed off. Please note that Roslyn Ave. will be closed to through traffic between Rosedale and Norfolk.   

Non-students and minors will check-in at the same general location as everyone else. However, they won’t be eligible for the free t-shirt and food tokens.  

Are we able to re-enter the event once we leave? 

Yes, folks may re-enter the event.  

Where are the restrooms? 

The nearest restrooms are on the ground floor, 1st, and 2nd floor of the Sykes Student Union. There are community men’s and women’s rooms on the side near the WCU Campus Store and two single-user restrooms with changing tables near EcoGrounds (turn right when coming into the ground floor entrance).  

What if there is a medical or other emergency? 

There will be an EMS table available near RamPark adjacent to the Pump House (8 on the map below) and Public Safety will be in attendance.  

When do the parking lots close?  

Commuter Lot K (behind Sykes) will close starting Thursday, May 2 at 5pm and will reopen Friday after the event. A small area in the back of K lot will be open for student parking. The 24/7 Employee Lot L (across from RamPark) will be closed from Wednesday, May 1 through Friday, May 3 after the event. New Street Garage will also be open on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 for parking options. More communication of alternative parking will come via an email from Public Safety.  

Activities, Music, & Giveaways 

What attractions are available at this event? 

There will be carnival rides and midway games as well as novelties such as a video game truck, photobooth, caricature artists, face painting, a flower truck, and giveaways, Our Discovery stage runs from 3:15-4:30 and 6:00-8:00 featuring WCU student performers. These acts will include live music, dancing, and more!  

How can I get a Ramboree t-shirt? 

There are 1250 t-shirts for WCU students on a first come, first served basis all released starting at 3 pm along with the food tokens. Each student may receive one shirt with their WCU photo ID. These are available near the east entrance of Ram Park (1A on the map below). The 750 undergraduate students who completed Advance Liability Waiver early via RamConnect will receive their t-shirt and tokens at the scheduled pickup time between 10am – 1pm on Friday, May 3rd. 

What live music is available and what is the schedule? 

WCUR is hosting the Discovery Stage, featuring our own WCU talent, from 3:15-4:30 and 6:00-8:00. WCU students will be taking the stage performing live music and dancing! The Discovery Stage will be in Ram Park. 

Food & Beverages 

Will food be available at this event? 

Yes. The following food trucks will be located behind Sykes Student Union in Lot K (2 on the map below):  

Southbound BBQ, Haagan-Daz, Kona Ice, Koi on the Go, The Munchy Machine, Pizza Wagon Catering Co., Turk’s Head Coffee Truck, and Saloon 151. 

Will there be Vegan/Vegetarian options? 

Yes. Several trucks will have vegetarian options on their menus. For other dietary accommodations, please check with the truck. 

Is there a cost for the food? 

The first 750 undergraduate students who signed the Advance Liability Waiver via RamConnect will be guaranteed a food token worth $15 to use at the food trucks (not at the free dessert trucks). These students must show their WCU photo ID at check-in. Additionally, 1300 food tokens will be released along with Ramboree t-shirts at 3 pm to undergraduate students who check in with their WCU photo ID at the event. Cash and credit/debit cards will also be accepted at these trucks.  

Where can I get water/beverages? 

There are water stations at various points around Sykes Union and beverages are for sale at the food trucks.
