The Office of New Student Programs coordinates orientation and outreach programs for first-year, transfer and adult-learner students. Orientation programs include summer, fall, and January sessions for incoming first-year and transfer students, and a late summer program for adult-learner students
West Chester's orientation programs are designed to introduce new students to the University and acquaint them with the academic, student services, and social aspects of college life. Attendance at orientation is required for all first-year students. On-campus orientation is required for transfer students with 59 or fewer credits, while transfer students with 60 or more credits are given the option of attending on-campus orientation or completing an online orientation course. Orientation is optional for adult-learner students
In addition to the orientation programs, new student outreach efforts include Welcome Week, Family Weekend, developing the New Student Connect, and the New Success Series, as well as supporting a wide variety of programs designed to introduce and engage new students in campus life. New students are encouraged to visit the office if they have concerns during their first year on campus. For more information about New Student programs and orientation, please visit our website.
