Grounds Maintenance

Work Control Center

The Grounds Maintenance Department is responsible for the stewardship and upkeep of approximately 300 acres of university property. Our team of groundskeepers, equipment operators, and supervisory staff is committed to delivering high-quality, reliable, and proactive services across campus landscapes and infrastructure.

Core Service Areas

Landscape, Hardscape, and Turf Management

  • Routine lawn care and turf maintenance
  • Hardscape paver repairs and replacement
  • Landscape bed and planter design, installation, and maintenance, including: irrigation, weeding, mulching, pruning, and integrated pest management

Arboriculture and Tree Management

  • Maintenance of a comprehensive tree inventory
  • Proactive tree health assessments to preserve longevity, safety, and aesthetic value
  • Implementation of established Tree Care Policy

Athletic Field Maintenance

  • Oversees athletic fields maintenance contract.

Seasonal Services

  • Snow and ice removal operations
  • Leaf collection and seasonal debris management
  • Green roof and rain garden maintenance to support campus sustainability initiatives
  • Seasonal planting and display

Waste and Recycling Support

  • Trash, recycling, and litter removal across campus grounds
  • Installation and servicing of cigarette urns and waste receptacles
  • Composting operations and organic waste management
  • Dumpster requests

Infrastructure and Site Maintenance

  • Light excavation and site preparation services
  • Transportation, rigging, and placement of heavy materials and equipment

To request a service, submit a TMA Work Request by selecting Maintenance Request @ iService Desk and "Grounds Related" as the Type of Work.

How do I request outdoor trash containers?

Submit a TMA Work Request by selecting Maintenance Request @ iService Desk and "Grounds Related" as the Type of Work.

How do I request a large dumpster (Roll-off) for my construction/cleanout project?

Submit a TMA Work Request by selecting Maintenance Request @ iService Desk and "Grounds Related" as the Type of Work.

Include in the request:

  • A project number or cost center
  • Specific location where the container is to be delivered
  • Description of what is being placed in the container
  • Date of delivery
  • Size of container;
    • 10 cu yd - 12'8" L x 8'3" W x 4'4" H 
    • 20 cu yd - 22'9" L x 8'3" W x 4'4" H 
    • 30 cu yd - 23'1" L x 8'3" W x 6'1" H 
  • Any special Instructions that are needed

 

The Grounds Department will call or email to verify the  container delivery date.

Please call (or email) the Grounds Department to empty and/or remove the container at 610-436-3485.

How do I request animal control (outside pests)?
