The Graduate Student Association Award for Excellence
The student will receive the following:
- Acknowledgment from the GSA and the Graduate Dean
- Cord from the GSA to wear at commencement; students will be informed how to obtain their cord
- Invitation to stand and be recognized at commencement
In the Field
Students will be recognized for excellence in their field work (internship, practicum, lab) as determined by faculty in the program.
Criteria:
- Strong evaluations by site supervisors and/or faculty
- Prepared for field work thoughtfully and carefully
- Positively contributed to the site
- Took initiative in proposing new and creative solutions
- Excellent time management and organization
- Able to reflect on experiences and feedback to improve practice
In Scholarship and/or Creative Activity
Students will be recognized for their research, scholarship or creative activity as determined by feedback from program faculty.
Criteria:
- Published or submitted paper or article or creative activity with or without faculty
- Conference presentations, papers, poster presentations
- Assistance with faculty or staff research or creative activity projects
In Leadership, Service and/or Advocacy
Students will be recognized for leadership in their academic program, on campus or in the community as determined by the faculty in the program.
Criteria:
- Service to the discipline to program, campus, or community
- Advocacy for colleagues, "clients", community members
- Leadership roles in professional organizations or campus organizations
- Service on department, university committees, professional association committees
