WCU Continues Test-Optional Policy for 2022

June 16, 2021

West Chester University’s Office of Admissions is happy to announce that we will be continuing our test-optional policy for Fall 2022 admission! Submitting SAT and/or ACT scores will be an optional, not required, part of the admissions process for first year students applying to attend WCU in Fall 2022. WCU first implemented the test-optional policy for Fall 2021 admission.

At WCU, our goal is to make the application process as simple and stress-free as possible.

Do you have questions about the continuation of this policy? We are here to help!

Q: Will I be penalized for not submitting test scores?

A: Absolutely not! Students will not be disadvantaged in any way for declining to submit test scores.

Q: I Took the SAT/ACT already, can I submit those scores if I want to?

A: Yes, you still have the option to submit test scores, but remember that you will not be penalized for not doing so.

Q: Do I need to submit test scores for nursing or another competitive major?

A: Nope! None of our majors are requiring SAT/ACT scores for Fall 2022 enrollment.

Q: Will this policy be in place for Fall 2023 admission?

A: Right now, this is a one-year continuation of the policy. It will be reevaluated after the current admission year.

WCU’s Fall and Spring 2022 applications will open the first week of August. We look forward to receiving and reviewing your application!
